Schools of Distinction awarded for most improvement

The Center for Educational Effectiveness named its 2017 School of Distinction Award Winners. The schools showed the most improvement over a five-year period in reading and math, and in graduation rates for high schools. Statewide, 96 schools were named award winners.
Local winners were Darrington Elementary School, Edmonds Elementary School, Garfield Elementary School (Everett), Cathcart Elementary School (Snohomish), Centennial Middle School (Snohomish), Seattle Hill Elementary School (Snohomish), and Elger Bay Elementary School (Camano Island).
