GOLD BAR — The body of an 18-year-old woman was recovered Thursday from the North Fork of the Wallace River at Wallace Falls State Park.
The woman, a local community college student from Las Vegas, was at the park with friends Wednesday. Her friends called 911 about 7:45 p.m. after hearing the woman cry out and a splash.
They said the group had climbed over a railing to cross the river. Officials believe the woman was swept over the falls. Her name was not made public.
The park was closed Thursday for the recovery operation.
