LAKE STEVENS — The identity of a second boy who died in an accident in Lake Stevens has been confirmed.
Zander Perry, 13, was playing with friends June 26, swimming by the beach when he and two other children were reported to be in distress.
Rescue divers pulled Perry and the others out of the water. All three were unresponsive.
Perry was transported to a Seattle hospital. He died of his injuries earlier this month. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office declared the cause of death was drowning and his manner of death was an accident.
Malachi Bell, 12, was the other boy who drowned June 26.
Family members of Perry, Bell and the third child, Alexis Simpson, have created online fundraisers to help with hospital and funeral costs.
