50 years ago (1957)
Preparing for their annual fundraising event, the Pancake Festival, members of Everett Kiwanis were getting in a little practice. One special feature would be a visit from Aunt Jemima. Chefs included Chuck Ruthford, Dr. Ed Diamond, Bryce Hausmann, Dr. Vince Martinis, Bob Cassidy, Bill Gorbutt and Bob Humphrey.
25 years ago (1982)
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Booster Club and the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of Everett were sponsoring the Everett Sausage Fest 10K Fun Run. A two-mile run would also be offered. Each entrant would receive a free T-shirt and the first 100 finishers would receive a free sausage-on-a-stick.
A bicycle wizard was in high demand to repair bikes at Luther Child Center, which operated a residential treatment program for boys age 5 to 14.
