Second Lt. Fotis C. Koutlas graduated from the basic artillery officer course at Fort Bliss, Texas, and was assigned to an artillery unit in Europe. He was the son of Constantine Koultas of 1301 Broadway. Lt. Koutlas graduated from the University of Washington.
25 years ago (1979)
Curt Lillibridge of Everett was making his third commitment toward competing in the America’s Cup. Lillibridge also participated in 1974 and 1977. Mark Rodgers of Everett would accompany him to Newport, R.I.
Five seventh-graders and four ninth-graders received 4.0 grade point averages the previous semester at Lake Stevens Junior High School. The seventh-graders were Cheri Anderson, Brenda Clark, Anne Haack, Barbara Ochs and Kim Thomas. The ninth-graders were Kandis Hansen, Darrell Hayes, Timothy Thomas and Brian Watson.
