50 years ago (1963)
Stephen L. Chase, 909 Rucker Ave., was elected a director of National Fisheries Institute. He was president of Everett Fish Co. along with his wife Evelyn. Mr. Chase was in Philadelphia attending the 18th annual meeting of the Institute.
Lake Stevens Junior High School was presenting its annaul spring concert on Monday. The ninth grade chorus under the direction of Stanley Tutlis would join with the junior high band directed by George Eberle. Claudia Wold would do a special number, “Caro Mio Bien.”
25 years ago (1988)
Intermec Corp., a Lynnwood based company that was a national leader in the bar code industry announced that it was about to get a five-year contract worth more than $100 million to produce electronic inventory tracking systems. John Paxton was Intermec’s president and chief executive officer.
Adele Pinneo, bus driver for the Edmonds School District, was pictured chatting with one of her daily passengers, 10-year-old Jeremy Harper. One day 19 years ago she got fed up being enclosed in an office all the time and made a career change. She said her present job was the best anyone could have.
