WENATCHEE — Wenatchee police arrested a 32-year-old Snohomish man early Monday morning with between $100 and $200 worth of quarters soon after an alarm alerted them to a break-in at a car wash, said Wenatchee Police Sgt. John Kruse.

Kruse said a patrol officer responded to an alarm at the Wenatchee Super Wash, 1415 N. Wenatchee Ave., at about 2:40 a.m., and found the coin machine had been broken into, and coins were gone.

He said the officer knew the same car wash was broken into May 25, along with the Wenatchee Super Wash at 504 N. Wenatchee Ave. The officer then responded to the car wash at 504 N. Wenatchee Ave., only to find another coin machine broken into, and a man in his vehicle in one of the bays. The man was taken into custody and questioned, and admitted to stealing coins from both car washes, Kruse said.

The man was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of second-degree theft and second-degree malicious mischief.
