MONROE – A teenager was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after her vehicle collided with a Community Transit bus early Monday.

Danielle Bruggman, 19, was westbound on U.S. 2 just outside Monroe when her Honda Accord allegedly crossed the center line and collided with a bus, according to the State Patrol.

Bruggman was in the intensive care unit at Harborview in serious condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

No one was on the bus at the time of the accident, which happened about 4:25 a.m. The bus driver suffered minor injuries, according to the State Patrol.

It wasn’t clear why the woman reportedly crossed the centerline. The road was dry, trooper Lance Ramsay said.

Lynnwood: Woman charged with child rape

A 38-year-old Lynnwood woman was charged Monday in Snohomish County Superior Court with third-degree child rape for alleged sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.

The boy had been a friend of the defendant, Gina Marie Bell, and her children for several years, deputy prosecutor Janice Albert said. In November, the two became closer, and she drove him to sports practices and watched movies with him, Albert said.

She allegedly told the boy she loved him, but would have to wait until he was 16 before they had sex, she added. She allegedly changed her mind in December when she undressed in front of him and allowed sexual contact, Albert said.
