EVERETT — A pedestrian has been identified following a fatal hit and run where she was struck by roughly seven vehicles last week.
Just after 4:30 a.m. June 21, Rachell D. Everitt was run over by “multiple cars” that all drove away in the 10100 block of Evergreen Way, according to the Everett Police Department. She was 41.
She died from blunt force injuries, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Witnesses reported the first car that hit Everitt was a dark SUV, possibly a Toyota, according to police. The second vehicle was a gray or silver car.
Everitt was then run over by another four or five vehicles, police said. No description has been given for any of the cars.
A witness told police they took pictures of a “barricade of people,” trying to protect her body, but traffic didn’t slow, Everett police spokesperson Ora Hamel said.
Detectives were still investigating Thursday whether Everitt was crossing the street or on the sidewalk at the time she was hit by the vehicles, Hamel said.
