EVERETT — The YMCA of Snohomish County announced on Friday a three-year donation totaling over $6 million to the organization.
Over $2 million will be donated to the organization annually from the Ballmer Group, the release said. The funding is part of a statewide initiative to enhance personal and academic growth for low-income youth aged 5 to 17.
“We are incredibly grateful to receive these funds which will allow us to expand our programs and make a meaningful impact in the lives of underserved youth,” Peyton Tune, YMCA of Snohomish County President and CEO said in a release. “We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, and these resources will help us provide support, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, creating a brighter, more equitable future for all.”
The statewide partnership is for three years with $20 million to be donated by the Ballmer Group to the Washington State Alliance of YMCAs.
“The Washington State Alliance of YMCAs is thankful for Ballmer Group’s shared commitment to ensuring that underserved youth across the state be provided opportunities to succeed,” Karen Hedine, Washington State Alliance of YMCAs Chair said in a release. “This vital funding is an investment in the resilience and potential of the next generation, helping today’s young people explore their options as shapers and stakeholders of tomorrow’s strong communities.”
