In the March 16 Herald, under Today in History, it claims the Grand Ole Opry House opened in 1974. This is in error. The original Opry House opened in 1925. What opened in 1974 was the replacement, an updated Opry House. We lived in Arkansas for several years and listened to the program every week.
I would have sent this by email but my God Bless America computer is having problems.

Editor’s note: To expand on Mr. McVay’s correction, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium was home to the “Grand Ole Opry” radio show until 1974, when it moved to its current home. The Ryman was restored in 1994 and continues to host the “Opry” for three months each year.
