Biden administration providing reason for hope

Because I pointed out things not based on facts in one writer’s letter in March does not “prove a point.” It does show that no amount of truth can change a mind mired in fear and conspiracy.
The Biden administration isn’t coming after our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. Neither is it attacking our freedom of speech or our religion. There is no “assault on the Second Amendment.” There aren’t “terrorists and criminals” “streaming into our country.” From what I’ve seen, looks like women and children. Please don’t ignore the previous four years that got us where we are today.
The real threats I see are: the rise in domestic terrorism, the rush to suppress the vote, a Republican party that’s adrift without truth and a do-nothing political platform, save for the belief in the “Big Lie.”
I agree with the letter writer’s Mark Twain quote “Diapers and politicians should be changed often; and for the same reason.” That’s what happened on Nov. 3. Mark Twain also said “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they been fooled.”
So now, with the Biden administration getting people vaccinated, the economy on the rise, the stock market at record highs, and Biden’s positive approval rating, all make me feel there are some things we can be hopeful for, unlike the previous four years.
Me? I prefer to live with a positive attitude, so I’m doin’ a backstroke in a nice warm cup of Joe.
