The country belongs to the people and in November they can choose what they want it to be.
Do they want it to continue as a democracy or would they prefer it to become an autocracy?
If they choose the former then they will retain the right to have some influence on government policy, but if they choose the latter then they will relinquish that right and will never have the opportunity to vote again.
