I understand The Herald’s need to try to balance political cartoons of both political stripes, but publishing cartoons that dangerously mislead the public and help perpetuate the virus are not in the public interest.
Gary McCoy’s political cartoon in HeraldNet’s Dec. 20 online gallery, pushes the notion that believing Dr. Anthony Fauci is akin to believing in Santa Claus. Really?! Is that how you want to inform and enlighten your readers? Perhaps educating them on what science is trying to do to stop the deadly virus would be a better approach than playing into misleading and deadly notions that lead to anti-vaxxing, anti-masking, and further public endangerment.
Haven’t we already had enough of that?
