Helion’s relocation to Everett a smart and clean move

I read with great interest the article about Helion Energy moving to Everett. It is very uplifting to know that somebody is busy researching fusion energy, a safe and clean fuel for our air and our descendents (“Can fusion-powered Helion Energy change the world — from Everett?,” The Herald, Feb. 2).
I want to point out one reason why it is so important that Helion relocated from Redmond to Everett. Power is supplied to Redmond by Puget Sound Energy PSE relies upon coal for 32 percent of its power supply (search for Fuel Mix Disclosure Report). This makes PSE one of the “dirtiest” (and unfortunately the largest) power utility in the state.
Snohomish County PUD, which supplies power to Everett, on the other hand, is one of the cleanest power utility in the state. Congratulations to Helion Energy, Snohomish County PUD, our community and whomever worked to facilitated Helion Energy’s move to Everett. We are all better off as a result.
