Medicare for All opponent supported by for-profit industry

I just wanted to write to express my disgust with Sally Pipe’s guest commentary about Medicare for All (“Covid is refuting the case for Medicare for All,” The Herald, May 16). Her idea that any government interference in health care surely comes from her Koch family overlords that fund her so called “Pacific Research Institute.” Ha! To trust anything that comes from the mouth of someone who works at a think tank funded by that hateful family is foolish.

Looking at her page on the PRI’s website, it’s clear that she has made her entire career shilling for private health care. I only ask for Pipes to experience what it’s like to not have top-notch private health insurance. I’d bet we’d see a quick change of heart of this heinous person.

For right now we have a health care system that benefits the wealthy! How are we to have a strong society of camaraderie and care for our fellow friends in life if we throw the most vulnerable to the side. That’s not a caring world, and the wealthy do not bat an eye at these injustices!

Friends, the rich and wealthy are our enemy, and it’s time we stand up to them and refuse to be their stepping stones to wealth and power!
