No reason to make mask-wearing political; just wear them

I was in Ivar’s recently picking up an order for dinner. A young couple came in without masks on and were told by an employee, and a sign on the door, that they could not be served without masks.

The couple turned and left while giving inappropriate hand gestures and spewing profanity. I told them I had extra masks in my car, but received another hand signal in return.

Anyway, they climbed into a big SUV with a big American Flag on a pole on their big back bumper. Hmm! I just want to say that this was about the most un-American experience of my long life. (I’m 76)

I do not get it. This should not be a political party issue. That is just plain stupid!

The issue is about saving lives.

Get your shots and you may be saving the life of your spouse, your child, your parents, your neighbor’s child, your best friend, etc., etc., etc.

For heaven’s sake, just do it!
