Our heartfelt thanks to many caring citizens

We at the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office want to pass on our heartfelt thanks to some very brave citizens who stopped to help Deputy Becky Lewis last Saturday evening. Deputy Lewis was punched in the face many times and thrown to the ground by a man she was trying to arrest. As the suspect jumped on top of the deputy and continued to punch her, several citizens came to her aide. We want to thank Jason Sprinkle, Gregg and Kathy Famelos, Debbie and Don Whitfield, Laurie and Meghan Johnson, Tawni Kosnosky and Frank Van Leemput for stopping and rescuing Deputy Lewis from what could have been a much more serious incident. As it was, Deputy Lewis had to be taken to the hospital and is now recovering.
Without the courage and sense of civic responsibility of these citizens, we can’t image what could have taken place. They are real community heroes who deserve everyone’s thanks. During this Christmas season we have much to be thankful for, and now Deputy Lewis and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office can enjoy the holidays even more. Thank you to Jason and the Whitfields for giving us gifts of caring, love and life. You are the best! Merry Christmas.
