I write to request two things: that writers of letters the editor of The Herald use a civil tone in their letters, and failing that, that The Herald not publish letters which include disrespectful language.
A letter the other day had some good points about the value of plastic in our everyday lives, particularly in the medical field. However, the writer in the last paragraph resorted to name-calling and insults for people who worry about plastics in the environment and who use phrases that he doesn’t like.
I am so tired of unkindness. Since when did it become acceptable to publicly ridicule people you disagree with?
