America’s Navy decided March 13 that Outlying Field Coupeville’s use will return to historic norms so our naval aviators can be properly trained to land on aircraft carriers. I give thanks for this decision based on a through impact statement authorized by the Obama administration and somewhat at a 2013 petition I started and U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen’s request.
Soon land use reforms will finish the job of keeping America’s VAQ Wing safe from noise whiners’ unpatriotic antics like a C-130J Harvest Hawk piloted by Marine Maj. Katie Higgins Cook. Restrictions on building immoral housing in Ebey’s National Historic Reserve to stop noise whiners from moving in next to the Coupeville field only to agitate for its closure are part of the strike package. We shall explore “growth management” together as the proper tool to address COER’s ongoing public health concerns.
Only a great nation listens, then acts from science and compassion for her citizens. That is what America did and will continue to do here.
