Smiley should have answered editorial board’s questions

With elections coming it’s sometimes hard to find information about the current candidates or to know what questions to ask them. Lucky for us, The Herald Editorial Board does interviews and asks the hard questions. I might not always agree with whom they endorse, especially in the 39th Legislative District, but I can appreciate the time the candidates take for the interview and the thoughtful review the editorial board makes. In the race for the U.S. Senate this process is especially important.

I was surprised and shocked about Republican candidate Tiffany Smiley’s response to this process. Instead of answering questions, she opted to read a prepared statement denouncing journalists. It is easy enough to see the clip as it can be found on the Jason Rantz show.

I look forward to the debates where her positions can be questioned but this juvenile behavior is not what I’m looking for in a U.S. senator.
