Stop grousing about comics; pay attention to important news

It is quite disheartening to see how many people are more concerned about losing access to their favorite comics in their paper than issues that truly impacting quality of life for all of us, like inflation, deterioration of public safety, lost civility of public debates, questionable direction in our education system, just to name a few.
This might explain why people do not recognize the similarity between such defining events like the Afghan withdrawal and the mandated vaccination. Nobody seriously argues against that it was time to bring the troops home, however how it was done was clearly a disaster with long term consequences. Same way, vaccinations are important to save lives, truly helping a segment of our community, but to force it on everybody is a failed policy.
How did incompetence suddenly become political strategy and tactic? Pairing it with lack of accountability and transparency will further increase distrust for all levels of government in a time when we need unity and common direction the most.
