I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Washington state lawmakers for their forward-thinking and compassionate actions in passing bills that protect our clean economy and promote animal welfare. Special thanks to Reps. Amy Walen, D-Kirkland, and Strom Peterson, D-Edmond for their dedication to introducing and championing bills to ban animal testing for cosmetic products (House Bill 1097) and octopus farming (House Bill 1153).
This is a very exciting week for animals, and we must thank Animal Rights Initiative, Pasado’s Safe Haven, and the Humane Society of the United States for lobbying for the bills. These initiatives mark a significant step toward a more ethical and sustainable future. By protecting animals, we are not only ensuring their well-being but also immersing ourselves back into nature, where our rightful place is, as equals respectful of everyone’s right to live and prosper. Thank you for prioritizing compassion and progress.
