Josephine Caring Community has been putting seniors first for over 100 years

With new residences coming, seniors enjoy community, stability and peace of mind

In 1905, Stanwood resident John Hals donated $10,000 and a 10-acre parcel of land to the creation of a seniors’ residence in the loving memory of his wife, Josephine. The original “Josephine Old People’s Home” opened in 1908, and since then the Josephine Caring Community has evolved and grown to provide a variety of services to families and individuals of all ages.

Today, 114 years later, they offer Transitional Rehab, Assisted Living, Long Term Care, Home Health, Home Care, Early Learning and Childcare services. Over the next few years Josephine Caring Community will open two brand new ‘62 or better’ communities in the Stanwood and Smokey Point area.

Josephine Caring Community strives to provide the very best in senior care and ensure their beloved clients and residents feel safe, cared for and supported as they age. Most of all, they should feel confident knowing the Josephine Caring Community will be there to support them throughout their lives.

“Josephine Caring Community has been an active community member for over 100 years and won a number of awards,” says Jessica Treat, Senior Marketing & Admissions Director. “As an organization we are changing and evolving to meet the needs of our community but our primary focus has always been on providing exceptional care and services to community members of all ages and in all stages of life.”

One of the newest services being provided by Josephine Caring Community is Josephine At Home. Josephine at Home offers both Home Health and Home Care. Home Health is skilled short-term care from licensed nurses, therapists, and aides that your doctor prescribes. Home Health is typically a covered benefit by most medical insurance plans. Home Care is a non-skilled service to support seniors with everyday tasks like cleaning, food prep and personal grooming from professional caregivers. Home Care has flexible scheduling with pricing dependent on the level of care needs.

“Our Josephine at Home services offer care right in the comfort and safety of your home and allows for seniors to remain in their own homes for longer. We offer two different types of care to allow for more flexible care solutions for our seniors. Patients can choose from skilled Home Health, non-skilled Home Care, or utilize both at the same time,” Treat says

Josephine at Home allows seniors to customize their care to meet their individual needs – from a few hours a day to around-the-clock support.
