EDMONDS — Snohomish’s girls basketball team tried to slow the pace and shut down Edmonds-Woodway’s Angela Woods in order to beat the fourth-ranked team in Class 4A.
The Panthers were effective at stopping Woods, E-W’s leading scorer, who was held without a point for the first time this season. But the Panthers couldn’t contain the rest of the Warriors, who collected a 49-31 Wesco 4A triumph. The win clinched the Wesco South crown and the division’s top seed to the district tournament for the Warriors.
E-W’s Ashley Albertson had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Syndey Donaldson, scored a game-high 18 points to go with seven boards and seven blocks.
Snohomish made just three two-point field goals. Julia Young made four of the Panthers’ eight 3s on the way to 17 points.
