EDMONDS —Amia Nash’s goal for Wednesday night was the difficult task of coming off the bench and controlling Jackson’s dynamic point guard Erin Feeney.
Nash accomplished that feat, holding Feeney to 13 points, and Nash scored 12 points in the second half, allowing E-W to capitalize on Jackson mistakes for a 75-66 win in a Wesco South girls basketball game at Edmonds-Woodway.
“Nash played extremely well for us tonight,” Warriors head coach Duane Hodges said. “She had to chase around Erin Feeney and that is a task in itself because Feeney is really, really, really good.”
Jackson’s Leigh-Ann Haataja’s big-scoring ability was put into check with a tough man-to-man defense deployed by the Warriors, as the sturdy 6-foor-2 post played only about half the game while in foul trouble, finishing with 15 points.
Angela Woods had a 19-point performance to lead E-W.
