Everett gets a commitment from the forward, but is still waiting on 1st-overall pick Landon Dupont.

EVERETT —- The Everett Silvertips have signed first-round WHL prospects draft pick Mirco Dufour to a WHL scholarship and development agreement, thus securing his services in the future.

Dufour was selected 19th overall in May’s prospects draft. The 5-foot-7, 157-pound forward, who hails from Chestmere, Alberta, had 21 goals and 21 assists in 21 games with Edge School U15 Prep last season.

“Mirco plays the game the way we like our forwards to play,” Everett assistant general manager Mike Fraser said in a press release. “He’s relentless, competes hard on pucks and is a quick and shifty skater. He can make plays and has shown the ability to put the puck in the net. He’s a dynamic player who will look great in a Silvertips jersey.”

The 2009-born Dufour is eligible to play for Everett full-time beginning in the 2025-26 season.

Everett is still yet to sign the first-overall pick in this year’s draft, defenseman Landon DuPont. DuPont was just the second player ever granted exceptional status by the WHL, making him eligible to play full-time next season as a 15-year-old.
