Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Princess and the Pea” are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 22 in the Shoreline Room at Shoreline Center.
Approximately 60 local students currently enrolled in grades K through 12 will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Actor/Director. This is a group audition, so no advance preparation is necessary. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.
Students wishing to audition must arrive by 3:45 p.m. to register and plan to stay for the entire two-hour audition. Due to space limitations “actors only” will be allowed into the audition room. Parents may wait in the lobby. Doors will be closed for the auditions at 4:02 p.m. The audition is free; all students cast, except for assistant directors, will be charged a participants fee of $40 for Shoreline/Lake Forest Park residents, $45 for non-residents. This fee is payable at the audition. Some partial scholarships are available, but must be applied for in advance. Call 206-417-4645 in advance for information on qualifying for financial assistance if cast.
The two performances will be staged at 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and will be presented in the Shoreline Center Auditorium as part of the Shoreline Arts Festival. All those cast must be available for the rehearsals and both performances. Admission to the play is $6, however, each student participating in the auditions will receive one complimentary ticket.
This residency is sponsored by the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council. The Shoreline Room is located at the North End of the Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave. NE, Shoreline.
