Friday
Healing Through Movement and Dance class: 9 a.m. every Friday in auditorium B on the fourth floor of Stevens Hospital. This class is designed for women recovering from breast cancer and other chronic conditions. Cost: $60 for six weeks. For more information or to register, call 425-640-4066.
South County Senior Center (220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds; 425-774-5555) offers the following events and activities:
• Senior Lunch: Noon Mondays-Fridays: Seniors 60 and older enjoy hot meals and community. Reservations recommended; reserve by noon Monday for that week’s desired date. Cost: $2 suggested donation.
• Coffee Bar: 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays: Hot tea or coffee, freshly baked cookies and pastries. Cost varies.
• Senior Employment Resource Center: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays: Matches seniors with skills with seniors that could use those skills, including home maintenance/repairs, housework, care giving, driving, handymen. Info: 425-774-5555.
Saturday
Edmonds Museum Garden Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 25 at Fifth and Bell streets, Edmonds. For more information: 425-775-5650.
South County Senior Center Thrift Store: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. Antiques and bargains, plus senior handcrafted dish cloths/towels and baby shower items in the Country Boutique Shop (open Mondays-Thursdays).
Sunday
Free concert in the park: Bring the family to see Happy Hans, an Austrian Polka group scheduled to perform from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22 at Edmonds City Park, Third and Pine St. Cost: free.
Monday
Fashion Design and Sewing Class- 6, Weekly 3-hour sessions: Rosemyrrh Sewing Academy offers sewing instruction and commercial pattern alteration in Edmonds. Advance registration, directions, and information: Rosemary Garnett 425-775-2090.

Edmonds Public Facilities District Board: regular meeting scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 in the Fourtner Meeting Room at City Hall.

Debtors Anonymous: 7–8:30 p.m. every Tuesday: Debtors anonymous support group meets every week in the brick annex just west of the main church at Alderwood Manor Community Church, 3403 Alderwood Mall Blvd., Lynnwood. Info: 425-486-3459.
Day Hikes for Older, Active Adults: every other Tuesday, June-November. Join fellow nature lovers for light hikes that are less than five miles round trip with minimal elevation gain. Thursday
Seniors trip to Anacortes: The South County Senior Center will host a day trip to Anacortes, WA. from 8:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, leaving from the Center. Cost: $29 for members, $34 for non-members. Lunch at The Gere-A-Deli included.
Little Bebops Play Group- 9 a.m.-12 noon every Thursday: Indoor play space for children 5 and under at Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 19523 84th Ave. W, Edmonds. Cost: Free Info: 425-670-8984.

Expired flare collection: Edmonds Flotilla 12 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will collect expired flares and conduct free vessel safety checks on the following dates: Aug. 14, Sept. 11 and Oct. 9. The events will take place at the Port Launcher office at the southwest corner of Anthony’s restaurant at the Port of Edmonds.
