Shoreline Community College’s new mascot was introduced to the public at a women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader against Everett Jan. 22 at SCC.
Dolphie was designed by SCC student Tan-Leuk Chan, whose drawings were selected among several that were submitted as part of a contest sponsored by the athletic and intramural department.
Mary Ellen Martin of Textile Craftsman crafted the dolphin costume based on the new logo. Dolphie will appear at all SCC home athletic events and at community events.
“It was simply time for a ‘new face’ on campus and Dolphie is it,” said SCC athletic director Ken Burrus.
