Winning is just around the corner. Thats the slogan at Great American Casino in Everett. Its one of four sister casinos dedicated to providing great food, games and fun in a comfortable yet classy atmosphere. The casino recently added a new poker room.
Its the most comfortable poker room in Washington, said general manager Mark Palmer. We bought the very best chairs. Theyre leather and you can lean back as you play.
The casino is celebrating with a new $2,000 weekly High Hand poker tournament beginning in May. Every two hours from noon to midnight there is a high hand in the poker room. Those with the high hand are automatically entered in the weekly tournament. In addition to the High Hand special, there are daily no limit Texas Hold Em tournaments at 10:30 a.m., and also on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 p.m. Those looking to hone their poker skills can take advantage of free lessons on Sundays at 4 p.m. Other games at Great American include Double Deck Blackjack, Spanish 21, Fortune Pai Gow and Three Card Poker. There are $1,000 Blackjack Tournaments on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
But, Great American Casino isnt just about gambling. Its also about food and fun. There are three big-screen TVs for watching Mariner games and other sporting events. Customers can also take advantage of game-time specials like $1 Bud Light drafts and more. Join in the upcoming Cinco de Mayo party and try your hand at the Smack the Piata game.
Theres a twist to smacking this piata, Palmer said. The twist is that you dont have to wear the traditional blindfold. Instead, Palmer has some special Cinco de Mayo goggles to aid the vision. The person who hits the piata and breaks it will get to keep whats inside. But, like all good piata games, the prize is a surprise. You can try your hand at Smack the Piata from 2 to 10 p.m. on May 5.
Other upcoming events at Great American include the Customer Appreciation Party on June 6. Anyone who joins the Great American Rewards Club can attend this private party that features free dinner and a $1,100 cash giveaway. Customer Appreciation parties are ongoing and its free to join, but you must sign up in advance.
