Last real egg rolls will be sorely missed

Does anyone think of quality today?

We seem to be living in an era where management asks only one question. That is: “How can we make it with less expense?”

Now, every time I look at, and taste, an egg roll, I am reminded of a beautiful lady who, along with her husband, put quality first when they created a line of quality products and thereby a successful business. Her name was Mary Pang, a lady so lovely that at one time, she was a sought-after model. She came equipped for life with a very pleasant personality and a business acumen that was supreme.

Their egg rolls consisted of first rate products, cooked in woks so large, an adult could have taken a sitz bath in one. The wrappers were so tender and flavorful because they were made from real eggs. Along with that, every employee was proud of what they did and where they worked. They knew that they were creating goodness that was the envy of their competitors. It was together, that they created products which even today, cannot be equaled, let alone surpassed.

When tragedy befell the Pangs, it also befell the International District, the city of Seattle, the Puget Sound area and the state of Washington. There are many of us that miss the quality products they produced, for theirs was the last real egg roll.
