FALL SOFTBALL: Mountlake Terrace hosts coed and men’s fall softball leagues. Register by Aug. 28. League play begins Sept. 4. League days are coed: Sunday (recreational) and Monday (competitive); men’s: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for E and E-Rec, and Thursday for D; women’s: Saturday late mornings. FALL BASKETBALL: Mountlake Terrace hosts fall men’s basketball leagues. Register by Sept. 10. Games start week of Sept. 17. FALL VOLLEYBALL: Mountlake Terrace hosts fall coed volleyball leagues. Register by Sept. 11. Matches start Sept. 18. Two divisions to choose from: competitive and recreational. HOCKEY EVENT: The Seattle Junior Hockey Association hosts a free skating event for youth ages 4-7 at 1:15-2:45 p.m. on Aug. 18. Helmets, elbow pads, shin guards, gloves, skates and a stick will be provided. The event is at the Lynnwood Ice Center. Information and to reserve a spot: 425-672-7744.

BASEBALL TRYOUTS: NW Titans Baseball Club is holding tryouts for their 2008 U14 select team Aug. 8, 12, 14 and 18. The team will play in the Sandy Koufax Olympic division and play tournaments throughout the Northwest, Arizona, Canada, and also will make a World Series trip.
