The Accord Hybrid is the worlds first passenger-sedan hybrid to be powered by a V6, and will be Hondas third hybrid model.

The all-new Accord Hybrid incorporates the third generation of Hondas advanced Integrated Motor Assist full hybrid system. The IMA works in combination with the new Variable Cylinder Management technology, delivering what the company claims to be the worlds best V6 fuel efficiency on par with a four-cylinder Civic along with highly responsive and powerful V6 performance.

The Accord Hybrid achieves an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway a 43 percent increase over the current Accord V6 in city driving and 23 percent in highway driving.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter SOHC V6 gasoline engine in combination with a 12 kW permanent magnet electric motor. The transmission is a new, more compact 5-speed automatic with an electric oil pump for smooth start-up from idle stop. Regenerative braking also contributes to the Accord Hybrids efficiency.

The instrument panel provides an exclusive meter display that shows the IMA systems status and mode of operation. The new Accord Hybrid comes with an impressively high level of premium features and equipment, including the latest in safety technology.
