BOTHELL – The University of Washington Bothell will host a celebration to commemorate the fifth anniversary of its Business Development Center.
The event will be held in the North Creek Events Center on the UW Bothell Campus from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16. Through the generous support of its corporate sponsors, Vertafore, Redapt Systems, Eric’s Famous Beverages and Noah’s Bagels, this event is free and open to the public. Support for the BDC comes from the Herbert B. Jones Foundation and the cities of Bothell, Woodinville and Kenmore.
The UW-Bothell BDC has significantly enriched students’ learning experiences. This exciting celebration is to acknowledge the business community and faculty in their diligent work to help make the BDC a success.
Of the celebration, Barry Weisband, director of the BDC, said, “Our anniversary commemorates five years of a true public-private partnership. The Northwest business community has joined with our faculty to provide unique learning experiences for our students. The BDC is growing rapidly into a Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Technology where new ventures will be created, incubated, and positioned for high-growth opportunities.”
The keynote speaker of the event will be Noah Alper, founder of Noah’s Bagels. Alper is a serial entrepreneur, with more than four decades of launching successful companies. Additionally, he is a 2010-2011 entrepreneur-in-residence with the BDC.
