HeraldNet wins awards at competition

The Herald’s Web site was recognized Saturday in the regional competition of the Society of Professional Journalists, Pacific Northwest Chapter.

Heraldnet.com won second place for Web site Design, and received an honorable mention as Best Overall Web site.

In addition, three Herald writers were recognized for their efforts:

  • Brian Kelly received an honorable mention in the Education category for "A Special Violence."

  • Columnist Julie Muhlstein received an honorable mention for her columns.

  • Janice Podsada received an honorable mention in the Feature category for "When Home Is Where the Hurt Is."

    The Herald writers were judged among daily newspapers with circulation greater than 50,000. HeraldNet.com was judged among all newspaper Web sites in Washington.
