Theater production handles tough topic

I want to commend the Everett Historical Theater for having the courage to present The Laramie Project as one of its productions this season. This brilliant and timely script, dealing with difficult and challenging content, was superbly performed and staged. I was surprised that so few people were in the audience.

As uncomfortable as the subject matter is, hate crimes are very much a part of our world today. This play reminds us of how cruel and destructive such attitudes can be and how one community was affected and dealt with a senseless murder. I hope this final weekend more people will fill the seats at the Everett Historical Theater for its finest performance to date.
