The Boeing Co. has given a $40,000 grant to Seattle Pacific University to support and improve math and science education for K-12 teachers.

The Cascade Orthodontic Center in Marysville is offering children $4 per pound of Halloween candy brought to the office. Dr. Jason Bourne will give $2 to the child and $2 to the Marysville and Lake Stevens Boys &Girls Clubs. Seismic Shock Control Systems Inc., which develops and manufactures base isolation systems in Arlington, has signed a licensing agreement with Kukje Bridge System Co. Ltd., of Seoul, South Korea. Kukje will have the right to sell and install the Axon Seismic Bearing on bridges in Korea, in addition to having limited rights to manufacture certain components.

Snohomish County ranks fourth in the state in visitor spending, as determined by new tourism economic impact figures. Approximately $608 million was spent last year in the county, a 5% increase from 2002. Snohomish County trails only King, Pierce and Spokane counties.
