Croshaw will bring needed change

Thank you to all of those in Gold Bar who voted for me in the primary election. I am very grateful so many had such faith in me and ask now that you join me in supporting Dorothy Croshaw for Council Position 1. She and I share many of the same views and goals.
Now that I am no longer a candidate, I’d like to address the sheriff’s contract issue. Let’s start with the $89,000 bill for the megahertz service my former opponent says “all the council missed”:
“…we received a bill from the County for approximately $89,000 for the megahertz system…Staff pulled out the contracts [sheriff’s contract] and cover letters and discovered the system was not rolled into the contract…” – Mayor Colleen Hawkins, May 3, 2005 Gold Bar City Council Minutes
And this also from the City Council minutes:
“…Mayor Hawkins reported she heard …[of]…an effort to have law enforcement contract cities pay for “indirect” costs above and beyond the negotiated price…it could be as high as $17,000.”
At our most recent council meeting, we learned we will not be responsible for the $17,000 discussed above. I guess it really was a concern that we might have to pay it and not just “misinformation” I was spreading around. The cost of the megahertz is very much still with us and was not missed by all of the council.
Seems to me $89,000 plus $17,000 equals more than $100,000.
I stand by my previous statements and urge all registered voters in Gold Bar to speak with their vote this November. Join me in supporting Dorothy Croshaw for council and sweep out the incumbents for all council positions for a fresh start for Gold Bar.
