School not needed to make good living

I thought the Sunday editorial, “In dollars and cents, education’s value huge,” about what a person earns with education was interesting, although I disagree.
I am almost 63 years old. In my experience throughout my working years I have seen several factors in getting and keeping jobs:
1. Who you know.
2. Right opportunity.
3. Suck-ups and knee-benders.
I quit school in the 8th grade. Most of my life I have made pretty good money. To some, what I earned was chicken-feed.
For the past 10 years I earned $50,000 a year as a truck driver. It has always been my belief, a person can do anything they want to do if they set their mind to it … and education can have nothing to do with it!
