Army Pvt. Damien M. Anderson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. Anderson, who is the son of Bill Anderson of Everett, graduated from a home-school program in 2002 and earned an associate degree in 2005 from Edmonds Community College.

Patrick T. McAfee has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after completing the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program and earning a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University. He is the son of William and Diane McAfee of Clinton and a 2002 graduate of South Whidbey High School.

James P. Banta has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after completing the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program and earning a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University. He is the son of Norman and Doborah Banta of Oak Harbor and a 2001 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Army Pvt. Shawn B. Folsom has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. Folsom is the nephew of Robert Cook of Oak Harbor.

Army Pvt. Jeremy N. Drenski has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. Drenski is the son of Jeff Drenski of Lynnwood and Vicki Drenski of Edmonds. He is a 2005 graduate of Meadowdale High School.

Army Pvt. William G. Jonsson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. Jonsson is the son of Eric Jonsson of Kirkland and Leslie Jonsson of Bothell. The private is a 1999 graduate of Bothell High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Bryan D. Nelson has returned to the United States after serving in Iraq. He is regularly assigned to the Fourth Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, N.C. Nelson is a munitions systems specialist with two years of military service. He is the son of Bruce Nelson of Everett and Jan Torgerson of Snohomish. He graduated from Sultan High School in 2001.
