‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter (voiced by Mako in his last film role), becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters (Patrick Stewart) goes mad after he was wrongfully fired, and begins amassing an army of ancient monsters. Realizing his plan is succeeding, he is no longer satisfied with vengeance against his ex-employer, but now has thirst for world domination. Those ’80s icons Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo return in “TMNT,” opening today at Alderwood, Everett, Galaxy Monroe, Marysville, Mountlake, Stanwood, Meridian, Metro, Oak Tree, Woodinville and Cascade Mall. The movie, the first in computer animation for the heroes on the half-shell, is rated PG for animated action violence, some scary cartoon images and mild language.
