M’s get down when they go long

The Mariners gotta have that funk, so they’re playing “Give Up the Funk” whenever one of the good guys hits a home run this season (http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/07/04/04/100spo_c05marinernotes001.cfm).
It’s another sign that things are a lot better this year than in 2006, when they played the theme from “M*A*S*H” every time they brought in a relief pitcher.
Keith Richards says he once snorted his own father’s ashes mixed with cocaine (http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/07/04/04/100wir_a2newsmakers001.cfm). He sings a Stones song about “booze and pills and powders.” Who knew that was a just an ode to dear old Dad?
A couple tried to name their baby girl Metallica and the Swedish government shot down the idea (http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/07/04/04/100wir_a2metallica001.cfm). It’s actually not such a bad name for a girl, considering the couple’s other candidates were Anthrax and Stryper.
Here’s guessing that if they decide to name her ABBA, the Swedish government will go along.
The Mill Creek Town Center is going to line the sidewalk to its new bus stop with large blue pillars connected by ribbons of silver steel (http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/07/04/04/100loc_b1towncenter001.cfm). An artist’s rendering makes it look a lot less like prison than that sounds.
But if it does end up looking like prison, Mill Creek will have the perfect place to send residents when they don’t mow their lawns.
