Road and other projects in Snohomish County

The Regional Transportation Investment District proposes an estimated $2 billion in projects. Among them are:
Highway 9: $466 million to widen the road to five lanes from 176th Street SE to Highway 92.
U.S. 2 trestle: $378 million for new ramps intended to serve a wider trestle in the future.
I-5: $179 million to expand the interchange at 128th Street SW.
I-5 interchanges: $170.6 million for improving access on and off interchanges at Everett Mall Way; 41st Street-Broadway; 88th Street NE; 116th Street NE; and U.S. 2.
Highway 522: $136 million for a new interchange at Paradise Lake Road and widening of the highway from there to Monroe.
Highway 524: $106 million to widen to four and five lanes between 24th Avenue W. and Highway 527 in Bothell and add bike lanes.
35th Avenue SE: $104.4 million to construct new county and city arterials and provide an alternative route to Highway 9 and Highway 527 from Bothell north to Mill Creek.
Highway 531 (172nd Street NE): $65.8 million to widen the road to four lanes from 43rd Avenue NE to 67th Avenue NE and add bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
Highway 99 over Highway 104: $61.8 million to widen bridge from four lanes to six lanes of traffic plus a center median and sidewalks.
U.S. 2: $47.1 million to construct a bypass in Monroe giving residents north of the city a way around downtown to U.S. 2 and Highway 522.
Edmonds transit terminal: $126 million to build a ferry, bus and train hub.
New buses: $14.2 million to buy buses and commuter vans.

Sound Transit plans an estimated $1 billion in projects in Snohomish County.
The major undertaking is to extend light-rail service from Seattle to Lynnwood with stops at Mountlake Terrace, 196th Street SW in Lynnwood, the Alderwood mall area and the Ash Way Park-and-Ride lot at 164th Street SW.
Also planned are a Sounder parking garage in Mukilteo, completion of a new Sounder station adjacent to the Edmonds ferry terminal and new park-and-ride lots on Highway 9, U.S. 2 and I-5.
