Everett: Riverside offers dump coupons

The Riverside neighborhood is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the library at North Middle School, 2514 Rainier Ave.

Coupons good for disposing up to 360 pounds of garbage or yard waste at the Airport Road transfer station will be available to neighborhood residents at the meeting. A representative for Cocoon House, a shelter for homeless teens on Pine Street, is the scheduled guest speaker.

Forgotten Creek work party planned

Friends of Forgotten Creek are hosting a fall planting work party on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Meet at the north entrance on Bond Street and Kromer Avenue, across from the old train depot garden. Bring a shovel and pair of gloves. Treats will be provided for volunteers.

Methodist women plan holiday bazaar

The United Methodist Women of Everett First United Methodist Church, 3530 Colby Ave., are scheduled to hold their annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a silent auction, book sale, quilts, chocolates and holiday gifts and collectibles available. A hot lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lake Stevens: Lions Club makes donations

The Lake Stevens Lions Club recently made several significant donations to community causes.

n $500 was donated to the Lake Stevens Food Bank to help with expected holiday demand.

n License tabs and registration were paid for the food bank truck.

n $500 was donated to the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club.

n $1,000 was donated toward equipment at Sirita’s Playground at Lundeen Park.

Mukilteo: Prepare for winter storms

Learn to prepare for winter storms at a workshop being held at the Mukilteo Library.

The workshop, Winter Storm Preparedness, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the library at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

Chuck Morrison, executive director of the Snohomish County chapter of American Red Cross, is planning to lead the workshop. Topics are expected to cover winterizing vehicles and how to drive in snow. A representative from Les Schwab Tires is planning to show how to use tire chains.

The event is sponsored by Friends of the Mukilteo Library.

Snohomish: Art gallery features show

Arts of Snohomish Gallery presents “Land, Fire &Steel!” this month at 105 Cedar Ave. Parking and admission are free.

This exhibition features pottery in beautiful forms, acrylic paintings of Northwest landscapes and steel work of Northwest animals and landscapes. An artist reception is set to take place 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The gallery is also seeking artists for membership. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
