Free Boeing tours offered to veterans
The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour plans to honor U.S. military veterans on Monday by offering free admission to them and active-duty personnel in uniform or with identification.
Tours will be offered as space allows on Monday and can’t be reserved in advance.
The center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Tours of the Boeing Assembly Plant run at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The center is at 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo. Call 425-438-8100 or go to www.futureofflight.org.
Federal grants available for nonprofits
Nonprofit and government organizations in Snohomish County are invited to apply for a federal grant program through which they can offer emergency food, shelter, utility and rent or mortgage assistance.
Letters of intent to apply are due by 4:45 p.m. Nov. 16, and applications are due by 4:45 p.m. Nov. 30. They should be submitted to the Emergency Food and Shelter Program local board chairwoman, Mary Anne Dillon, at 3301 Broadway, Everett.

Help make low-income women queen for a day
Volunteers are needed for “Queen, It’s a New Day,” a Life Changes Ministry of Everett project gives low-income and homeless women a queen-for-a-day makeover.
Informational meetings are set for 10 a.m. Nov. 10, 17 and 24 at Life Changes Church, 2532 Virginia Ave., Everett.
The next “Queen, It’s a New Day” event is planned Dec. 10. Volunteers are needed to serve as hosts, provide beauty services, help prepare on-the-job professional wardrobes and gather wardrobe donations.

Volunteers of America invites the public to tour its Everett Food Bank and other facilities from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday at 1230 Broadway, Everett.
Individuals and groups are welcome to take the tour and learn more about the organization’s work. Call 425-259-3191 to reserve your spot.
The food bank accepts donations from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1230 Broadway.
Mothers group has room for more members
Mothers &More of south Snohomish County provides opportunities for moms to meet and support each other regarding their lives, families and work.
Chapter meetings are the second Wednesday of each month in various locations, play dates are scheduled every week and activities for moms are planned monthly.

Mill Creek event to benefit senior center
The Mill Creek Senior Foundation, a new nonprofit group formed to support construction of a senior center in Mill Creek, is planning its first fundraising event.
The foundation, along with senior center members and others, will offer a gourmet lunch, entertainment and prizes at an event set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at North Creek Presbyterian Church, 621 164th St. SE, Mill Creek.
