‘Awake’

A psychological thriller. “Awake” tells the story of a patient (Hayden Christensen) experiencing “anethesic awareness,” a phenomenon in which a patient’s failed anethesic leaves him fully conscious but physically paralyzed, during open-heart surgery. The patient’s new wife (Jessica Alba) is forced to struggle with her own demons as a terrifying drama unfolds around the couple. Also pictured is Terrence Howard. The film, rated R for language, an intense and disturbing situation, and brief drug use, opens today at Alderwood Mall, Everett, Monroe, Marysville, Pacific Place, Woodinville, Cascade Mall.
