SEATTLE — The Boeing Company has announced a big order from General Electric’s aviation subsidiary.

The deal announced Thursday is from GE Commercial Aviation Services and includes 55 planes — 53 737s and two 777-300ERs. It includes an exercise of existing options by the leasing company.

List prices for the planes add up to $4.5 billion, but buyers typically negotiate big discounts on large orders.

According to a statement issued by Boeing, the order was listed last week on the company’s Web site but was attributed to an unidentified buyer.

The GE subsidiary is the world’s largest owner of 737s and now has 309 on order.
