12th Man flag at state Capitol

Gov. Chris Gregoire and her husband, Mike Gregoire, raised the 12th Man flag over the Capitol campus Wednesday afternoon. The flag was raised to celebrate the Sea­hawks game against the Green Bay Packers in Saturday’s National Football Conference playoff game.

Following the event, Gregoire issued a proclamation honoring the team.

Join a board in Bothell

Volunteers are needed to fill several spots on various public committees and commissions in Bothell.

People have until 5 p.m. Feb. 15 to submit applications. The openings include seats on the Landmark Preservation Board and the Planning Commission.

Musicians of Holocaust recalled

Mina Miller, president and artistic director of Music of Remembrance in Seattle, will speak about the plight of musicians during the Holocaust at 11 a.m. and noon Monday at Whitehorse Hall, Room 105, Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., Everett.

Miller will play clips and lecture about courageous musicians who dared to create even in the ghettos and concentration camps of Nazi Germany.

The lectures are free, and no reservations are required.

Stanwood offers CPR class

Adult, child and infant CPR classes are planned for 8 a.m. to noon Monday at the Stanwood Community and Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW, Stanwood.

The classes are taught by instructors certified by the American Heart Association who have taught emergency medical technicians and have more than 22 years of combined experience. The center also offers a first-aid class from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

The classes cost $30.
