OAK HARBOR — Electronic Attack Squadron 133 is scheduled to return to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in two groups Sunday and Monday after a six-month combat deployment to Afghanistan.
The “Wizards” maintain and fly EA-6B Prowlers, which are equipped to jam enemy radar and disrupt other electronic signals.
The squadron was based on land, along with U.S. Air Force air crews from the 388th Electronic Combat Squadron at Whidbey.
Support and maintenance personnel are scheduled to arrive at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ault Field on the base. Air crews are scheduled to fly home at 1 p.m. Monday.
Also arriving are members of the Van Operational Detachment, who helped keep the Prowlers in top flying condition.
